Last week our guest speaker was Peter Holloway from Rotary Club of Moonee Valley and he gave a passionate talk on ‘Rotary Emergency Bollards Along Maribyrnong River - River for Everyone’. His club has been working with the councils, clubs and different authorities to implement this project for past few years. Significant progress has been made to implement this project and hope it will start soon. It will assist emergency sevices to find the exact location of the person in case of emergency. It will also provide many other information including directions, locations of facilities etc., to people along the river. This idea can be extended to other places. I would like to congratulate Peter and his club for this great initiative and wish them luck. Our club also will be one of the participants of this project.

Last weekend, on Sunday, I took Anar and Ryan to Mambourin Gardens, Werribee for a Garden swap and there we met with many people including Elizabeth Drozd. It was lovely to meet new people and to learn many gardening tips. There were many different items to swap including plants, herbs, fruit, vegetables, flowers, seeds, bulbs, eggs, gardening /cooking magazines etc. We also enjoyed the delicious homemade foods. Ryan had a great time too as he could play with the kids. It was also great to catch up with George Kerry (Jnr) for a coffee at RACV club in the city on Monday.

Also a reminder for our Club Vision Program for 26th October which will be held at Footscray Hockey Club: McIvor Reserve, Fogarty Avenue, Yarraville and the program will start at 8.30 am and conclude at 12.30. You should have received an e-mail from Chris Richardson about the Club Vision survey to determine where our club is at the moment against various measures. Please complete the survey at your earliest convenience. Also please let PDG John Davis, Rodney Johnston or myself know if you  are attending. I request all the members to make an effort to attend this event. It will certainly be an interesting program for our club and I am looking forward to participating in it.

Please enjoy your week, stay connected and work hard and let's together reshape our society, our world better.
