Our membership Chair Angus Scott-Walker kindly agreed to become President Nominee for our club. Angus joined our club in 1996 and has been on the club board for several years including the most challenging role, membership chair for the past few years. He is a man with outstanding leadership qualities and personal integrity and will be the President of our club in 2015-16. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Angus and his family.
We had a great Christmas night celebration on 5th December. I would like to thank Bob Newman, Rodney Johnstone, Darcy Brenan, Maria Silber and all other members, families, friends and guests for making the night a great success. My congratulations go to Lauch Wright and Khalilur Rahman for their awards/certificates of achievement for their outstanding contribution to society over the years. Lauch has been with the Rotary Club of Footscary and saw 60 new presidents, an outstanding member of our club; we all are proud of you Lauch. Also, congratulations and best wishes to our club sponsored exchange student, Hannah, who will be heading to Finland next year. Finally I want to thank Ryan Haque, our little prince, for being a brave boy and singing the beautiful Christmas song for us.

I am looking forward to the Club Vision forum to be held on 12th December during our regular lunch meeting to discuss the future direction of the RC of Footscray from the important points noted from the club Vision session on 26th October. PDG John Davis will be facilitating the session and there will not be any sergeant session on that day to accommodate the proceedings. We had our December Board meeting on 9th December. We had discussions on different issues, initiatives, goals and projects including Club vision, community initiatives, local and international projects through our club, cluster clubs and through the District/Foundation. We also agreed to be part of the Hoarding and Squalor Program with the collaboration of Western Health and Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB). The club will support this program by purchasing 20 fire alarms for Hoarding and Squalor patients.
