Dear Rotarians and Friends,

At last week’s meeting we had none other than our ex- change student Frederik give a talk about his homeland Denmark and his family. At least I learnt something new, there are no reindeers in Demark and the Danes love their duck for dinner.

It is the land of Hans Christian Andersen and a King can only be either a Frederik or Christen. Of course our country has a strong presence with our beautiful export Mary whom Prince Frederik met in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games.

As the time is getting much closer, Past President Graeme Thompson and myself are getting a bit concerned about the numbers for our Western Health Research Week dinner on the 19th November. Please make the effort to come along and support (see flyer attached) this great fund raising initiative of our club. You will be informed, entertained and wined and dined. The organisers behind this evening have put in a great deal of work to make it a successful evening.

On a final note we must thank Graeme Thompson for getting Western Health as a corporate member. Their membership should be approved at our next board meeting.

Have a great break with the coming Spring Racing Events and in particular the Melbourne Cup.

Happy punting! from your President

Angus
