Graeme's Message, 25 June 2015

Dear Rotarians and friends,

This week will be the last meeting with our Exchange Student Alphonso so I have invited him to contribute to this week’s Bulletin before he leaves on Tuesday June 30. We have enjoyed hosting “Fonzie” and look forward to hearing from him from-time-to-time in the future. We wish him all the very best for the future. Regards, Graeme

On the weekend I was down in Werribee living with Ron & Carol for four days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was an amazing weekend because I did not stop, I was doing something every time. Maybe you do not believe, but the latest I could get up was 8 o’clock and for me that’s horrible.

On Thursday we did not do that much, Ron just pick me up from Moonee Ponds, he saw me his house, they told me the rules of their house. I realized very fast who is the boss in their house, maybe you do not believe, but the boss is Carol. After we watched the movie “The book of Eli”. It was a really good movie, I absolutely recommended it. Finally I went to sleep, was 12:00 o’clock.

On Friday we get up at 6:00 o’clock and at 7:00 o’clock we jumped in the car and go to the Otway’s Treetop Adventures. We jumped on Zip Lines and we walked around the stringy bark trees. I was so surprised of how tall they were and I love the zips.

After we went driving to the Cape Otway Lighthouse. I founded that it is the first light the immigrant saw and it was the first lighthouse built on Australia. We came from the Otway into the Great Ocean Road just in time to watch “Million Dollar Minute Grand Final”. I already been on the Great Ocean Road, but I enjoyed as much as the first time. It is incredible how close the road is from the sea and the amazing views it has. I took a lot of photos and on the way to Werribee we stopped to get fish and chips for Afternoon Tea at Anglesea. This time we watched the movie “Troy” and I love it. Finally we went to sleep at 12:00 o’clock again.

On Saturday we get up at 7:00 o’clock and I went to cut my hair. I think is to short but I like it. Ron told me that the Australians say “is only one week between a good haircut and a bad haircut” (refer to photos in this edition...ed) and I answer that I cannot see that on his haircut because he still looking stupid. Then we went to the Werribee Zoo and I think is an amazing zoo because you actually can drive in the paddocks that the animals are. When we finished with the zoo we went to the Werribee Mansion. I learnt and saw how the houses used to be in Australia and what type of clothes they wore back on 1880s. When we went back home Ron and me played table tennis and Ron is so bad, I beat him all the time. After we had dinner and we watched the Doggies match. I went to sleep at 11:30pm

On Sunday Ron take me in his Mustang to Campbell Cove where Elia has a boat shed. We met with Elia, Elia’s daughter and Elia’s father. We walked along the beach watching the other boat sheds and after we took photos with the Mustang.

After at 5:00 o’clock with a sad face because the weekend was finish, but with amazing memories of this weekend, Ron drives me back to Moonee Ponds.
